VILLA RIDGE -- Carl Eugene “Pete” Windings, 72, passed away at 4 a.m. Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, in Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.
He was born on Dec. 1, 1941, in America, Illinois, to Lorraine and James Windings Sr.
He married Mary Ellen (Allen) Windings on April 15, 1960 and she survives.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was always quick witted and ornery in a fun loving way.
Throughout his life he had several occupations. He worked for the gas company and then opened his own heating and air conditioning business. He also served two terms as Pulaski County Clerk and then two terms as Pulaski County Commissioner.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Windings of Villa Ridge; two brothers, Robert (Nancy) Winding of Mounds and James (Pansy) Winding of Olmsted; and a sister-in-law, Sherrie Windings of Villa Ridge; three sons, John (Jenny) Windings of Olmsted, James Windings of Villa Ridge, and Jerald (Beth) Windings of Villa Ridge; grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb and Conner Windings, Lauren (Dan) Hansen, Adam Windings, Jacob Windings, Heather Crecelius and Tiffany Hunt; two great-grandchildren, Elaina Hansen and Bryce Windings; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gordon Windings.
Pete was a member of Caledonia Community Church in Olmsted, Illinois.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 8 in Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge, with Pastor Dean Hamilton. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery east of Pulaski. Visitation for “Pete” Windings will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Caledonia Community Church in memory of Pete Windings.
