Judy Jordan Everly
MTHS Class of 1963
Linda (Melton) Spaulding, Vicki Hess, Sherry (Moses) Miller, Jeanne (Bethards) Britt, Linda (Foster) Smith and Becky (Crain) Kleckner spent Saturday, June 10th, 2006 in St. Genevieve, Mo. visiting with Judy (Jordan) Everly.
Judy was involved in an accident, four years ago this November, that left her paralyzed from the neck down. She also has a tracheotomy tube that helps put oxygen in her lungs. She does, however, have very limited use of her hands.
Judy (Class of 63) and her husband Larry Everly live in East Prairie, MO.
In the past several years, she has had to change nursing homes, as all nursing homes do not take care of patients with tracheotomy tubes. Right now it takes Larry 4 hrs. (round trip) just to visit her. Also, several months ago, he had to have heart surgery.
Saturday when the ladies pictured above visited, Judy was in the hospital because they thought she had pneumonia. She was feeling better that day and was glad to see everyone. The ladies spent several hours visiting, laughing and enjoying being with her. When they left the nursing home, they all agreed that Judy’s strength of mind, courage and determination was an inspiration to everyone.
Judy Everly died at 8:10 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2006, in the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau. To
