Emma Lasley Tucker, age 93, of Good Samaritan Home, Quincy, died Monday, June 6, 2016, at 8:00 pm in Good Samaritan Home.
Emma Tucker | Hansen-Spear Funeral Home - Quincy, IllinoisEmma was born September 13, 1922 in Bloomfield, Illinois, the daughter of William and Louisa “Lula” Wickham Lasley. She married Melvin Talmadge Tucker on September 12, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 31, 2015.
Emma graduated from business college in Paducah, Kentucky. During World War II, she was a secretary on the home front, in St. Louis, where they produced gun shells for the war effort. She spent many years in retail and held various office positions in Hannibal and Quincy. Emma loved gardening and arranging flowers from her garden. She enjoyed singing and dancing. She was devoted to her family and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include four children, Jeanne (Jim) Smith of Quincy, IL, Steve (Patricia) Tucker of Buckeye, AZ, Barb (Paul) Harrison of Quincy, IL, Diane (Dearld) McHatton of Quincy, IL; four grandchildren, Steve (Chris) Tucker of Phoenix, AZ, Eric (Sandra) Tucker of Palmyra, PA, Kim Beaty of Quincy, David (Presches) Keck of Springfield, IL; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Johnny Lasley of Moline, Illinois; and a brother-in-law, David Sherman Tucker of St. Louis, MO.
In addition to her husband, Emma was preceded in death by her parents, six brother, Virgil, Jim, Clarence, Frank, Robert and Henry Lasley, and four sisters, Jewell Wilson, Mary Hogue, Wanda Heater, and Jerry Heisner.
Services: 11:00 am on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Hansen-Spear Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Disseler officiating.
Burial: Greenmount Cemetery, Quincy, Illinois
