VILLA RIDGE - Druetta B. "Dru" (McCabe) Lance, 67, of Waterloo, formerly of Freeburg, died at 1 a.m. Thursday, March 27, 2008, in Memorial Hospital in Belleville.
Mrs. Lance was born June 19, 1940, in Cairo, the daughter of the late Charles McCabe and Myrtle (Baker) McCabe.
Mrs. Lance lived in Freeburg for 30 years, moving to Waterloo in October 2007.
Druetta was a 25-year employee with Schnucks Markets in Belleville and Swansea and attended St. Paul Church of Christ in Freeburg. She was a member of the United Bakers Confectionary Union.
Druetta was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and her mother-in-law, Elaine (Palmer) Lance.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. Lance Sr. Of Waterloo; three sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph A. And Lu Ann Lance Jr. Of Freeburg, Jeffery and Kelly Lance of Waterloo and James and Lori Lance of Freeburg; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Dean Grant of Collinsville; father-in-law, Alvin Lance of Pulaski; two brothers, Charles "Chick" McCabe of Marion and Paul McCabe of Phoenix; one sister, Charlotte Biggs of Centralia; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2008, in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pulaski, with Brother Wiley D. Godfrey officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. To 1 p.m. Sunday at Jones Funeral Home in Villa Ridge.
