Bobbie J. Lingle, age 71, of Edwardsville, died at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
He was born on April 20, 1935, in Mounds, the son of the late Joseph and Dorothy Boren Lingle. He married Phyllis Sheffer on July 17, 1953, in Mounds. She preceded him in death on Aug. 14, 2001. He is survived by a son: Randy Lingle of Glen Carbon; two daughters: Cheryl Hamil and husband, Wayne and Gail Erb and husband, Barry, all of Edwardsville; six grandchildren: Jennifer Lawton, Randy Lingle Jr., Michael and Mathew Hamil, Barry Erb Jr. and Tina Erb Winter; two great-grandchildren: Madison Lawton and Hunter Erb; and a sister: Birdie Tucker of Pulsaksi.
Mr. Lingle was an auto mechanic. He owned his own business in Edwardsville. He later worked at Knowles Ford in Edwardsville and retired from Bo Beuckman in Collinsville.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 15, at Weber Funeral Home in Edwardsville. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at the funeral home with Rev. Henry Crippen officiating. Interment will be at Valley View Cemetery in Edwardsville. Memorials are suggested to Relay for Life.
